Steps for New Students - Degree Seeking

Apply
We accept applications year round and there are no deadlines to apply except for certain health programs.

1. Complete an Application for Admission
Submit the application online (quickest/easiest) or Print and mail or deliver the application to any One Stop location.

2. Pay the $25 application fee
Pay $25 application fee online with VISA/Mastercard/Discover by phone: 208-562-3000 with VISA/Mastercard/Discover, by mail with a check, or in person at any CWI One Stop location with Cash/Check/VISA/Mastercard or Discover.

3. Apply for Financial Aid
You may qualify for financial assistance. Apply for financial aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. FAFSA School Code - E01695

4. Turn in Admission Items
  • 18 years and older
    • One of the following:
      1. Submit an official accredited high school transcript. Current high school students can submit an official partial transcript but will need to submit a final transcript after graduation.*
      2. Submit an official GED transcript
      3. Submit an official regionally accredited college transcript with 14 or more transferrable credits*
      4. Submit compass scores from within the last 3 years reflecting the following minimums:
        • Pre-Algebra 25+
        • Writing 32+
        • Reading 62+
  • 16-17 years old
    • ACT or Compass scores AND
    • One of the following:
      1. Submit an official accredited high school transcript. Current high school students can submit an official partial transcript but will need to submit a final transcript after graduation.*
      2. Submit an official GED transcript
  • Home school students
    • Two of the following:
      1. Submit an official GED transcript
      2. Submit ACT test from within the last 3 years
      3. Submit compass scores from within the last 3 years reflecting the following minimums:
        • Pre-Algebra 25+
        • Writing 32+
        • Reading 62+

*College students with less than 14 transferrable credits will need to submit official high school transcripts. CWI will accept faxed high school transcripts as official if they are faxed directly from the school with cover letter/letterhead, have "official" clearly marked on the transcript and have an official school signature/stamp on the transcript. All other transcripts must be mailed.

5. Take the COMPASS Placement Exam or submit ACT scores
If you did not take the Compass for admission, do not have college level ACT scores, or do not have college coursework in math and English you will need to take the Compass before you can register for math and English courses. You are also required to take the Compass to register for many Professional Technical programs. To send ACT scores to CWI, please use ACT college code 0932. 6. Attend an Advising/Registration Group Session
All new students are strongly urged to attend. You will be given tips about how to be successful in college, given important catalog information, shown how to know which classes to take, and advised on how to use the myCSI registration system. We also cover financial aid and transfer information. See the calendar for session dates and other events. If you are unable to attend in person, at a minimum please review the presentations.

7. Purchase Books
Books can be purchased at the CWI Nampa Campus, Ada County Campus or online through the bookstore.

8. Pay Tuition
Pay online by check, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express by logging into MyCSI/Money Matters. Come see us in person at any One Stop Student Services location or call us at 208-562-3000 with your credit card information.
