Graduation Checklist
You’ve worked hard to earn your degree or certificate. Don’t miss these important steps that will help you prepare for the ceremony! Associate Degree and Certificate Students
GED, Apprenticeship, and Medical Assistant Students
Commencement Ceremony Schedule Check back regularly for updates on the ceremony schedule. Graduation Eligibility • Associate Degree and Certificate Students Students who will earn a degree or certificate during the 2011-2012 academic year (Summer 2011, Fall 2011, Spring 2012) AND have applied for graduation are eligible to participate in the May 2012 commencement ceremony. Students who have applied for graduation and are on track to complete program requirements during the summer 2012 semester may also participate in commencement; however, names of summer 2012 graduates will not appear in the commencement program. • GED Students Students who have completed GED requirements for graduation by March 31, 2012 are eligible to participate in the May 12, 2012 commencement ceremony. • Apprenticeship Students Students who have successfully completed all 4 years of the apprenticeship program are eligible to participate in the May 12, 2012 commencement ceremony. • Medical Assistant Students Students who have successfully completed all requirements for the Medical Assistant certificate by May 1, 2012 are eligible to participate in the May 12, 2012 commencement ceremony. Honors Degree candidates who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance with a minimum grade point average of 3.50 are academically distinguished at the Commencement Ceremony. Eligible students can purchase an honor cord when buying their cap and gown at the bookstore. This is based on the students cumulative GPA as of fall 2011. Cap and Gown/Announcements Check back regularly for updates on purchasing your cap and gown. To participate in the ceremonies, all graduates must wear appropriate academic regalia (cap and gown). Graduation caps, gowns, and tassels are available for purchase at the CWI Nampa Bookstore. Announcements are also available for purchase in the bookstore. Announcements are a great way for you to let family and friends know about your accomplishments. Directions and Parking Check back regularly for updates on directions and parking. Special Accommodations For Graduates and Guests: Please contact us at least two weeks prior to the ceremony if you or any of your guests need accommodations. Special arrangements will be made as needed, and seating will be reserved for guests that need specific accommodations. Contact info: commencement@cwidaho.cc Pictures and Videos As a public college event, the College of Western Idaho will be recording media in the form of photography, audio, and video. This media may be reproduced and used for educational, illustration, promotion, advertising, and trade associated with the College of Western Idaho. Graduates: Arrangements have been made with Grad Images to photograph each graduate as they walk across the stage. Samples of the pictures will be mailed approximately one week after the ceremony. You will be under no obligation to purchase photos; however, you will have the option to purchase a variety of packages online, by phone or by mail. Family Family members and friends are encouraged to stay in their seat throughout the ceremony. Due to certain regulations and safety standards, the aisles must remain clear; therefore, no one will be allowed to block the aisles to take pictures during any part of the ceremony.
