Program Overview
Are you a full-time, seasonal, or volunteer firefighter who is looking to formalize your structural fire training and experience? At College of Western Idaho (CWI), we can help you take the next step in your firefighting career by completing our two-year degree program in Fire Service Technology.
This degree is appealing for active-duty firefighters because you will be able to use your Emergency Services Training (EST) and National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) courses to satisfy the Associate of Applied Science degree requirements.
We serve municipal and county fire departments and districts to meet the needs of departments to maintain and sustain necessary skills for fire suppression and emergency response. Courses represent Emergency Services Training (EST)–approved curriculum based on National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA) including firefighter safety and the effective use of specialized equipment and firefighting techniques.
